Cycle Two

Today we have one more rest day before we head up again for our second acclimatazation cycle. The plan is that we will be gone for about a week. Tomorrow we will spend the night at camp one, then the plan is to go up to camp two and spend three nights there. We will meet up witht the London Business School team at camp two, and we will all share a mess tent, so it will be kind of like a second base camp. During our days at camp two, we will probably do acclimatazation hikes up to the bottom of the Lhotse Face. After three nights at camp two, we plan to go up to camp three to spend the night. Camp three is on the Lhotse Face. Then we will come back down to camp two for a night, and the next day come all the way back down to base camp.

Samantha, I saw your mother (or stepmother) last night at the Naples fundraiser. I told her how I am captivated by your adventure and I read your blog daily. A number of teachers are doing the same. What you are doing is amazing. We are setting up a display case in the 100 building in honor of your accomplishments. In any case we are very excited and are pulling for you. Stay warm.

Samantha, it's so exciting to read about your progress. Great going! Be safe and just keep putting one foot in front of the other!

All is well back here on 68th - we await to hear about your great success. Say hello to your dad.

Samantha,

The Sacker Family has been keeping close tabs on your and David's expedition. Sounds like it is shaping up to be a great adventure. It sounds very challeging, but rewarding, and we're glad to hear it is has been going well. We are sending good thoughts for your safety, and also sending prayers to the appropriate places. Hannah says "hope you're having a good time". Elena says "we will be seeing Janet for dinner this weekend, and will miss you, but will toast to your success and safe return."(Emily has no comment - sorry)

Love Josh, Elena, Hannah, & Emily

Dear Samantha,
Greetings from the LBUSD music staff! We're wishing you and your dad the best on this exciting adventure. At least you don't have to worry about practicing your oboe this time, like you did when you were in the Ohlendorf Orchestra. Stay safe and come back to us with lots of wonderful stories.
